Photo of the Day

TigerDowntown
White Tigers
14th & Wyandotte, Kansas City, MO

Some crazy things are happening downtown these days. Thousands of people downtown wearing cowboy hats all week (Garth Brooks concert)? Now this morning, as I was driving in, I see these tigers getting unloaded from a semi truck. Now that my 5D is always with me in my backpack, I drive around the block, park, and walk over to take some shots of these amazing animals.

As I was driving away I saw (I think) a lion coming out of the semi next.

Childhood

I asked them to get in a group for a photo and they spontaneously started singing Happy Birthday. For some reason I really like this one.

beard + fro

A beard and a fro.

The strangest thing is the reaction from acquaintances you don't see a lot. You get that "I know that person looks familiar for some reason but I can't put my finger on it" reaction often, especially when you see someone out of context. I think I like the beard. The hair is, well, interesting. I'm going to let it grow for another month or so and go to a fancy hair-cutter type who can craft it into something beautiful. If I hate it I'll shave it down like I used to.

I came to the realization the other day that it's taken me getting far, far away from the corporate world to be comfortable with this. And maybe turning 30 has something to do with it. Who knows.

The most likely outcome will be that I wake up one morning and shave it all off. We'll see.

Oh, and Emma went the other direction and got hers chopped off:
